Becky Smith, Licensed Massage Therapist, grew up in San Marcos, TX and completed college with her BFA in Photography from North Texas. During a trip to Thailand she was introduced to the art of massage. Once home, Becky attended & graduated in 2008 from The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School while also completing her yoga teacher training. After being employed by Sink Creek Spa and Retreat for 6 years, owner & founder, Angie Johnson, offered Becky the opportunity to continue her vision to create the ultimate climate for massage and relaxation. Now near downtown San Marcos, Blooming Day Spa will offer a relaxing getaway close to home. When asked what type of massage she does, she usually responds with “Becky’s Intuitive Massage.” She combines many techniques and the intuitive knowledge gained over her many years of massaging thousands of bodies and many hours of continuing education.
Maxfield Baker, Licensed Massage Therapist, grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and moved to San Marcos in 2007 to attend Texas State University. After completing a double major in Political Science and Anthropology, and working in human resources for four years, Maxfield decided to follow his original passion, and enrolled at the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School. He graduated the 500 hour program in July 2017, which included 50 hours of clinic internship, where he focused on deep tissue and orthopedic modalities. Maxfield’s client focused massage, aims to work with the nervous system to relieve the tension from within, by using an anatomically specific approach. He has worked with Blooming Day Spa since day one of his massage journey, and uses his years of massage and customer service experience to create a customized client focused session. Additionally, he focuses on client education after the massage so clients can better understand their body’s and their issues. Maxfield is consistently rated highly in our reviews, and clients especially have enjoyed relief from neck and back pain after working with him.
Trisha Breanne Welch, Licensed Massage Therapist, grew up in Austin and moved to San Marcos in 2011 to complete a major in Geography and Geology minor at Texas State University. Before and during her college years, Trisha fell in love with the practice of yoga. Her practice and study revealed its beneficial effects on connecting the breath to mind, body and spirit through movement.
Along her own healing journey with chronic pain, Trisha naturally gravitated toward bodywork as a profession. She attended The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School and has been massaging since 2018. Her experiences have helped cultivate an intuitive compassionate and holistic approach to life and massage therapy. Trisha’s work is client-centered, relaxing, and deeply transformative. She combines multiple modalities in her sessions including Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, mobilization and stretching. She has also trained in prenatal massage and is deepening her study in craniosacral therapy. Trisha’s vision is to alleviate tension, reduce pain patterns, and accelerate healing while providing a calm, relaxing space for immediate results.
Sienna Soto, Licensed Massage Therapist, grew up in Virginia, before moving to Texas in 2022 to join her family in San Marcos. When she moved she attended and graduated from Austin Massage Academy in March of 2023. After becoming a massage therapist she learned the importance of the mind-body connection and completed her yoga teacher training in March of 2024.
Her approach is client specific, with a blend of swedish, deep tissue, stretching and mobilization. She is continuing her studies in sports recovery and myofascial release.
